Welcome to The FVProject, my wellness practice and offering. The FVProject is an expression of my life as an artist, including art as a therapeutic practice. The FV stands for Family Vault, as in the family of all humanity, and vault as in a place to find stored treasure: the treasure of our health and well-being and the collective wisdom of ages past and present.
This is where everything I can access from my life experience is tailor made for you.
Art Therapy
Art Therapy requires absolutely no art ability as is often perceived.
Transpersonal Art Therapy underpins an invitation to you to use diverse art, craft and other creatively based techniques to explore wellness, life goals and meaning.
With 40+ years experience as a bookseller and most of that as an art and design specialist, I am also happy to offer you Bibliotherapy, FVProject style.
Right: Out walking collect a few objects that catch the eye and take them back home to draw or paint – being aware to only take things like fallen leaves and feathers, not destroying habitat or interfering negatively in ecosystems.
Wayapa Wuurrk
Wayapa Wuurrk is an earth connection practice based on indigenous wisdom. Recognising we were all once indigenous to the earth, Wayapa is a practice to reconnect to nature – for many it is a long way back in our family tree to when our ancestors fully understand themselves as part of the natural world as a living system.
To look after nature and thereby look after our own wellness and future survival, who better than to look for inspiration and guidance than the world’s oldest continuing culture. More information here, and here.
I have always engaged with nature for well being and believe working with the natural environment through art and craft is a way to see the world and ourselves from different perspectives. After discussion this could be anything from making art outdoors, exploring nature for studio work or your cultural inheritance for the deep stories and myths that connect us to the natural world – for which Wayapa Wuurrk is a transformative way to learn and share.
Left: Walking through the bush I came across a beautiful sight – it looked like the wind had created an extraordinary drawing on the earth’s surface.
It felt like an invitation to join in.
Tuition
If you would like to explore your creative practice, learn new techniques or have some painting /drawing tuition, do get get in touch.
Collage is one of my favourite techniques. Working intuitively with images, colours, shapes and perspective, meaning slowly reveals itself.
It can be deeply satisfying as insights and connections are made.
Honour House
In the near future accomodation will be available at Corowa on the banks of the Murray River.
The house is a typical brick Australian home built in 1930. Set on a double block and within walking distance to the river, shops and cafes – a place to rest and enjoy rural life.
You will be able to book FVProject Wellness/Art/Nature activities for enjoyment and health. Corowa and surrounds has much to offer with nearby vineyards, bike trails, the Chocolate & Whiskey factory, some nice cafes, and of course the river and beautiful walks. It is also close to some excellent bird-watching locations.
Honour House acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land it stands on and is surrounded by, respects all elders past and present, and honours First Nations continuing connection with this country.
